This is my first paid post. One thing that drew me to Substack is the opportunity to reeducate people about the importance of paying for news and insights. It’s never been free — at least it wasn’t free until publishers in the last ‘90s and early ‘00s made the devastating choice to flood the internet with valuable content, no strings attached.
